We recently travelled to Michigan to visit Daniel’s family. We were blessed with the opportunity to stay for a week and enjoyed catching up with friends and family. As is typical of a week-long visit anywhere, many photos were taken and we did far too much to write about in detail, but thanks to Charis and her willingness to share her photos with us, I’ll primarily make this a photo post. :)
Our first evening in Michigan, after a long (11.5 hour drive in which the kids did great – thank God!), Oma Jane and Aunty Charis opted to take Patrick on a walk. One of the neighbors was out and quickly offered Patrick an ice cream. As do most kids his age, Patrick made a glorious mess as he enjoyed the chocolate coated vanilla ice cream.
Doug and Jane hosted a cookout Sunday after church.
Here is Erin waiting for the mealtime to begin and acclimating herself to her new environment.
Even with his broken clavicle, Doug managed to grill some delicious food!
Tuesday, we (Oma Jane, Aunties Charis and Promise, Patrick, Erin and I) went to Greenfield Village. Many, many pictures were taken on this morning long excursion – enough that I could make an entire post just about it – but I’m going to try and post the highlights. :)
Patrick’s favorite part of the visit to the Village was the train.
We were all laughing because of Patrick’s delight as the train went by.
Riding the train.
Patrick was shouting, “Hi ho Silver, awayyyyy!”
